It's illegal for us to shoot them. They would put up a good fight- and They're Muskies. I think there were a couple Northern- but most are Muskies. You can eat the Norther- they are good. The Muskies on the other hand- I would not eat- high amounts of Mercury. The Carp taste like mud (to me). Some guys like the taste and they taste ok if you SMOKE them.

I'm sure the muskie takes a bite or two - but I think there main concern is staying warm- Right infront of that discharge can get up to 54 degrees- go over 15 feet and it drop to about 32. It is really cool. The REALLY Big Muskies can somtimes be territorial and will "bump" you or get about 8" from your face. close enough to make me back away. Every so often we'll even have Stergeon in there- Those are sweet!

I can't believe all those muskies and panfish were all dumbfounded and not afraid of eachother. I would love to swim next to all those nice muskies.

the air temp is -10 degrees = hense: Sub Zero.We walked across the ice to get to the open water.

NOT SUB ZERO!!! you can see the surface of the water and its not ice
ihuntpork (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)

this spot is right infront of a "warm-Water" discharge from a power plant. right infront of the discharge the water temp can be 54 degrees. Also, it is illegal for us to spearfish through a hole in the ice larger than 12" has to be "open water" |
